Emergency Medical First Aid in Sport Course

Dr Lisa Hodgson has announced a new 2-day Emergency Medical First Aid in Sport Course on 10th and 11th April 2013 at Notts County FC, Meadow Lane Stadium, Nottingham.


This highly practical, intensive and assessed 2-day emergency medical first aid in sport course will give the candidates a sound working knowledge of emergency first aid for a sporting event. It will focus on primary care on the field of play as well as discuss sudden cardiac death, medical emergencies, advanced airway techniques, C-spine awareness and spinal extrication. This course is an intermediate level course. Attendance on the EMFAiS course will enable candidates to improve upon their basic skills and knowledge under the guidance of highly skilled tutors. Candidates are required to attend with a desire to participate fully in the theory and practical sessions to fully maximise their learning outcome. All candidates are expected to already have a basic level of knowledge. There will be 3 forms of certification for the course. A certificate of attendance and a certification of a successful completion and pass of the course assessments [inclusive of HSE approved Emergency First Aid at Work (EFAW) and Automated External Defibrillation (AED) certifications. 

This intermediate level course is aimed at physiotherapists, sports therapists, sports rehabilitators and other allied health care professionals working in amateur, semi-professional and professional sport or those dealing with sporting individuals on a regular basis at school or local community.

Course Cost: £280 inclusive of VAT. Early Bird Fee: £250 inclusive of VAT up to and including payment received by 31st  January 2013. Student Fee: £250 inclusive of VAT with proof of student status. EMFAiS is an intermediate level course that will provide the skills that will enable you to work alongside other health care professionals to care for your athletes.
